VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH AWARD

We will be announcing the October
Volunteer of the month soon. It is time to begin nominating the
November Volunteer of the month. Remember anyone can nominate a
person they feel is an asset to any Windham youth sports
program. With all of the good people involved in Windham Youth
Soccer which just wrapped up its season, and Windham Youth
Basketball which is just getting started there are plenty of
deserving volunteers to choose from.

Windham Community Sports Volunteer of the
Month Award
Eastern Awards
and Engraving and Windham Sports Pages
announce the creation of the Windham
Community Sports Volunteer of the Month
Award. This award will recognize local
volunteers for their invaluable service
provided to one of Windham’s sports
organizations. Each month readers of
www.windhamsportspages.com can nominate
local volunteers and a winner will be
selected by a panel of community sports
members. The award will start in September
of 2007 and a new winner will be selected
each month. In September of 2008 a
Volunteer of the Year will be selected from
the previous 12 monthly winners.
This award was
designed by Todd Mead, owner of Eastern
Awards and Engraving, located on the River
Road in Windham, in conjunction with Chris
Spaulding of the Windham Sports Pages of
Windham to honor unrecognized volunteers in
the Windham community. The focus of this
award is directed towards the local sports
organizations and athletic support groups.
These organizations rely heavily on their
volunteers for all their operations.
Unfortunately do to the large amount of work
required and not enough volunteers to go
around, often many great deeds and
achievements plus enormous hourly and
monetary resources go unnoticed. This is an
opportunity to recognize those that provide
so much to our children and ask nothing in
return.

How it Works
1. Either fill out the form below or contact
Todd 310-0068 or Chris 318-1156 for more
information.
2. We will accept nominations through the
final Friday of the month.
3. The nominations will be forwarded to
panel of judges who will read each
nomination and vote independently for their
choice. They will have up to two weeks to
turn in their votes.
4. Todd from Eastern Awards and Engraving
will create the winner's custom plaque.
5. Todd and Chris will present the award to
the winner by the 3rd week of the month.
6. An article about the winner and pictures
of the presentation will be posted on
windhamsportspages.com and be distributed to
other local news organizations.
7. On the last Friday of that month the
process starts all over again.
8. Each September the panel will choose the
Volunteer of the Year from the previous 12
Volunteers of the Month. |
