This is the
first newsletter of 2009. I hope everyone
had a great holiday season. Some of us
enjoyed a little break from the youth sports
seasons while others may have been busier
than normal. Over the holiday break we had
our first coverage of high school swimming
and hope to have more of that in the coming
weeks.

WINDHAM HIGH
SCHOOL
SWIMMING
Thank you to
David Field for covering a swim meet a
couple weeks ago. I would love to see
someone take the handoff and cover the rest
of the season for these athletes. Please
contact me at

We will be
recognizing our first swimmers as Athletes
of the Week along with several others. It is
just taking some time to get the info filled
out and pictures taken.
New 3v3 Instructional Basketball League
Time is
running out to enter a team in the
Basketball Academy's 3v3 league. The new league is a
3v3 instructional league that is intended to
make players think about a different aspect
of the game each week. Players will have to
follow a different specific rule each week
that will, over the course of the season
promote the young players thinking about all
aspects of the game. The playoffs will be
free of the special rules where the players
will hopefully implement them on their own.
Each team will
play 2 games a week for 7 weeks beginning on
January 17 or January 24, 2009. There will
also be playoffs.
There are four
leagues:
Boys 5th & 6th
Boys 7th & 8th
Girls 5th &
6th
Girls 7th &
8th
The program will be broken
down into four separate leagues:
Boys - 5th & 6th
Boys - 7th & 8th
Girls - 5th & 6th
Girls - 7th & 8th
Requirements:
1. Each player will be
required to fill out the Basketball Academy registration
form located at
www.thebasketballacademy.biz
2. Email us at
thebasketballacademy @ maine.rr.com
your team name, with the name of your players on your team
and which league you are entering.
3. The league will be limited
to only 8 teams per league. Team entry will be accepted on a
first come first serve basis. Some
leagues are filling up quickly!
Please call Dudley Davis at 772-6644 if you
have any questions.
