August 20, 2007
Eastern Awards and Engraving and Windham
Sports Pages announce the creation of the
Windham Community Sports Volunteer of the
Month Award. This award will recognize
local volunteers for their invaluable
service provided to one of Windham’s sports
organizations. Each month readers of
www.windhamsportspages.com can nominate
local volunteers and a winner will be
selected by a panel of community sports
members. The award will start in September
of 2007 and a new winner will be selected
each month. In September of 2008 a
Volunteer of the Year will be selected from

NEW THIS WEEK:
(Sunday
August 19th - Saturday August 25th)
We
have added to the list of
benefits for Jordan Emerson.
We
formally announced our new
volunteer of the month award. A
joint effort between Windham
Sports Pages and Eastern Awards
and Engraving. Please spread the
word so people can nominate the
volunteers that make the Windham
Youth Leagues Possible.
The 2007 Travel Soccer season
kicks off this weekend with many
teams already competing in their
first games on Saturday August
25th. We are pleased to announce
one score today but we want to
do more. We want pictures and
stats. Who scored the goals?
Which goalies made the saves?
Who got the assist? Don't
hesitate to send us updates on
your child's team. Tell us if
your Child kicked the winning
goal or made a great assist. Be
proud and tell the community!
WYSA still has room in many age
groups! They are especially
interested in Pre-K children who
want to play soccer this fall.
Visit
www.windhamyouthsoccer.com
to print the forms but hurry up,
time is running out. The season
starts on September 8th and we
want to know who scores the
goals and makes the saves. We
will report on every sport and
student athlete in Windham if
you help by sending the
information.
We
are hoping to make a formal
announcement next week about the
Athlete of the Week Award.
We
want to do stories about local
athletes. Please let us know
about anyone you think we should
write a story about.
