COMMENDED STUDENTS IN THE 2009 NATIONAL MERIT® SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The principal, Deborah McAfee, of Windham High School announced today that Zachary Vary has been named a Commended Student in the 2009 National Merit Scholarship Program. A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, will be presented by the principal to this scholastically talented senior. Windham AD Steve Merrill and Sacopee Valley AD Chris Hughes will be attending to discuss what it will take for our Wings Hockey team to become a Varsity sport. We encourage all parents to attend. The Wings Middle School Hockey Team is now accepting applications for the Middle School Head Coach for their co-op team between Sacopee Valley and Windham. Assistant coaches are also welcome. This is a volunteer position. The middle school team is a club sport and plays under the Southern Maine Middle School Hockey League www.smmshl.com.
