Windham-On a soggy field and mild temperature afternoon, Windham MS football continued their dominance in SMYFL in defeating number two seed Saco 27-6 to claim the first gold ball in Windham football history.

The Junior Eagles started off winning the toss but that is as far as the winning went as Saco completed passes to defeat Windham 20-0.  Windham was forced to punt on its first possession.  Saco wasted no time and went to the air and scored.  The Eagle defense got together and stopped the two point conversion attempt. Saco-Windham made significant adjustments to defeat the Junior Trojans 27-12 in SMYFL action today.  Additionally, Windham sealed home field playoff advantage in the playoffs with its win today.  Both teams had done plenty of scouting of each other so nothing was a secret on the field. However, Windham’s powerful lines coupled with its ability to put together well blocking running attacks put the game in their favor. Read

Windham’s B squad battled fiercely in their game against Scarborough to only come up short in a 20-30 game.  Reyanne Matthews led the junior squad with 128 yards rushing, three touchdowns and one point after.  She would post two over fifty yard touchdown sprints to put points on the board for her team. Windham Youth Football will hold its annual meeting on Monday, December 8, 2008 at 7pm at Windham HS.  The annual meeting is the election of all Board Members.  All positions are up for re-election.  Not interested in a position?  Show up and be present to elect someone who is interested.
