football continued their dominance in SMYFL
in defeating number two seed Saco 27-6 to
claim the first gold ball in Windham
football history.

The Junior Eagles started
off winning the toss but that is as far as
the winning went as Saco completed passes to
defeat Windham 20-0. Windham was forced to
punt on its first possession. Saco wasted
no time and went to the air and scored. The
Eagle defense got together and stopped the
two point conversion attempt.

Saco-Windham made
significant adjustments to defeat the Junior
Trojans 27-12 in SMYFL action today.
Additionally, Windham sealed home field
playoff advantage in the playoffs with its
win today. Both teams had done plenty of
scouting of each other so nothing was a
secret on the field. However, Windham’s
powerful lines coupled with its ability to
put together well blocking running attacks
put the game in their favor.

Windham Seventh and Eighth Grade Football
squads reported for preseason camp on
Monday. Missing were the player negotiations
and reinstatement squabbles plaguing some
NFL squads. What we had were kids showing up
wanting to play the game and some learning
about their new coach.
