Cross Country Runner of the Week

Talia McKay!

-        Question and Answer –

-        By: Meghan Rich –

MR – “What made you want to join Cross Country?”

TM- “I love to run, it is a nice change from just running on the track, circle after circle.”

MR- “Are you involved in any other sports/ activities other than Cross Country?”

TM-“Yes, many…dance, soccer (year-round), basketball, and track.”

MR – “What are some of your goals in X-Country?”

TM- “To improve my time from week to week!”

MR- “How do you keep up with all your sports and still do excellent in school?”

TM– “I make sure that I have plenty of time for my homework and focus my time equally between school and sports.”

MR- “Are you ready for this week’s home meet?! How are you feeling about it!?”

TM- “I’m ready! I feel prepared for the hills!”

MR- “What is your strategy when you run?”

TM- “Get ahead of the pack when starting, and keep a steady pace!  Stick with the fast runners!”

MR- “What goes through your head as you are running? Do you think about anything special to keep you going?”

TM- “I do not think about anything special when I run, just to not quit and keep going.”

MR – “Do you plan to keep doing Cross Country through High School?”

TM – “Yes! Definitely!”

MR – “What are some things you do not like about Cross Country?”

TM – “It gets so cold at meets that sometime you don’t feel like running!”

MR –“What is your favorite course out of all the courses you have run on?”

TM – “Deering Oaks.”

MR – “What is your favorite part about the practices?”

TM – “I like that we don’t run the course every day; we do different activities everyday to get ready for the meets!”

MR – “What is your least favorite thing about the practices?”

TM – “Too many 6th graders!”

MR – “What is your favorite leisurely activity to do?”

TM – “Cooking and reading!”

MR – “What are some traits that you have that you think make you qualified to run Cross Country?”

TM –“ I am athletic and have good endurance!”

MR- “Thank you for your interview, and good luck at your next meet!”
