Windham’s First Cross-Country Meet of the Season!

At Bonny Eagle, September 19^th

A morning cold enough to snow, turned out to be a scorching eighty degree cross- country meet! Windham didn’t let high temperatures stop them though!

It was a race against ten other teams including, Bonny Eagle, Gorham, Scarborough, Moore, King, Westbrook, Southern Maine Catholic, Memorial, Mahoney, and Lincoln.

Windham pulled out on top with a strong start, ending with an overall score of 36 (lowest score wins), the closest team had a score of 82!

The first meet of the season is always a relay run form, then after this meet everyone runs together at the same time. For the relay, each coach chooses 7 runners for girls and 7 runners for boys, and then everyone else runs in an open race.

This is not like a track meet relay because there is no baton to pass on. After each race begins and then ends, the next race will begin by the gunshot! Once all the races are over, all the times are compared to see the final results!
