As the lone senior on
this year's Windham High
School Girls Varsity
Basketball Team Kelsey
Babb led by example.
Coach Jessie Mayol said,
"Kelsey has been a
consistent player all
season. Originally a
shooting guard, Kelsey
recognized that her team
needed her to fill
the role as the team's
point guard this
season. She
has accepted the
challenges that come
with this role and has
done an outstanding job
all season."
Kelsey stepped up big in
Windham's 43-49 loss to
Marshwood on Tuesday,
January 29th. Despite
falling a bit short,
Kelsey and her teammates
showed a lot of heart to
rally from a 22-point
4th quarter deficit to
eventually lose by a
mere 6 points. Kelsey's
sharp shooting lead the
way down the stretch
where she sank 5
3-pointers to finish the
game with 15 points.
She also picked up 3
assists and 2 steals
from the point guard
position.
In addition to
basketball, Kelsey
played field hockey for
Windham High School.
She is also following in
her father's foot steps,
racing cars at
Beech Ridge Motor
Speedway in
Scarborough. Kelsey
finished fourth in
points (651
points) in the Road
Runners Class last year.
That was just 26 points
behind the leader who
finished with 677
points.
We wish you the best
Kelsey as you finish
your senior year and
begin the next chapter
in your life.
