Meghan Gribbin is named Athlete
of the Week for her abilities on
the court and her team first
attitude. |
ORDER COMMEMORATIVE PLAQUE
Meghan
Gribbin, a member of the
8th grade Girls Basketball team, was
nominated for
Athlete of the Week not only for her
abilities on the court but also for her
"team first" approach.
This is
illustrated when we asked her what her
favorite thing about playing
basketball, and she replied "being
with the team".
Coach Wayne Martin says it best, "I
think Meg would be the first to tell you
that being named "Athlete
of the Week" is not only an honor
for her but a tribute to her teammates.
It is rare in today's sports scene to
see young athletes who can dominate a
game yet remain humble. I think that in
itself is a tribute to her parents, Tim
and Sharon. I've known Meghan since she
was in elementary school (I was her PE
teacher) and I've followed her team's
successes through the years. What's
ironic is that she's been playing at
high level for a few years. Not just one
week. Not too many 8th graders an say
that. Meghan and her teammates have a
lot to look forward to in the coming
weeks and years."
Keep an
eye out for Meghan on the
High School Varsity team in a couple
years.
Good luck
to Meghan and her teammates as they
continue their season.
