ORDER COMMEMORATIVE PLAQUE
Earlier
this fall we asked Windham Middle School
Football Coach to tell us something
about Damien Shepard, "Damien is a young
man that any coach would be proud to
have on his team. He is not just a good
athlete, but he has a great attitude."
This was
apparent from the moment we met Shepard.
He greets you with his contagious smile
that immediately puts you at ease.
It only
takes a few minutes with him to realize
that he is someone you want to be
around. Soft spoken and humble during
our brief meeting you almost forget he
torched the Southern Maine Middle School
League for 20 touchdowns this season.
Shepard's
mom Sherry said, "Damien's spirit is
contagious, we all feel his energy!"
It is easy
to see why Windham Middle School
Football Coach Todd Coons said, "Damien
is such a special young man both on and
off the field."
On the
gridiron this fall, Shepard put up
impressive stats and was one of the many
players that led the Eagles to an
undefeated regular season, and into the
second round of the playoffs.
Shepard
will also run track this year and he is
looking forward to the season where he
will showcase that speed that left would
be tacklers grasping at air this
football season.
Shepard
will return to the Middle School team
next year as an eighth grader. Coach
Coons said, "I am looking forward to the
years to come for Damien as I am sure
this will not be the last we hear from
him."
Coach
Coons added, "I am looking forward to
next year with the talent we have coming
back."
The Eagles
certainly have a bright future with
Damien Shepard and all his teammates
coming up through the program.
