Gribbin Approaching 1,000 career points

Windham, ME: Windham High School senior Meghan Gribbin is approaching a coveted high school milestone; scoring 1,000 points in her high school basketball career.

Gribbin is a four year varsity starter. She only needs 48 points to reach the milestone and with five straight home games on the schedule it is almost guaranteed she will break the record in front of the home corwd.

Gribbin is averaging 19.6 points per game this year which means she will probably reach or pass 1,000 points on Tuesday January 12th against Gorham or Friday January 13th against Massabesic.

Here are Gribbin's point totals for the season:
12/09 24 points vs South Portland
12/13 24 points vs Noble
12/16 17 points vs Biddeford
12/20 21 points vs Scarborough
12/22 22 points vs Marshwood
12/30 15 points vs Thornton Academy
01/03 14 points vs McAuley

Gribbin is not only a standout basketball player. She has given back to the community over the past few years by working with younger basketball players. A couple years ago I asked her if she would come to a practice to work with a team of fourth grade girls I was helping coach. To the delight of the younger girls she came to practice every week for the rest of the season. She told me at the time, "I remember how much it meant to me when I was younger and the high school players would help us."

Mark your calendar using the schedule on the right and come out and support Gribbin and her teammates. Lets pack the gym and give the team a huge home court advantage, and show our support for a standout basketball player, and an equally outstanding member of our community who is already giving back to the community.
