Windham, ME: Windham Youth Basketball (WYBA) held their Senior League Rec Championships at the Windham High School (WHS) Gym on Saturday March 12, 2011. Allied Engineering held on late to defeat Bob the Screenprinter 19-17 for the girls senior league championship.
Allied Engineering and Bob the Screenprinter split their regular season matchups. Allied won the first game 22-16 and Bob the Screen Printer won the second game 18-16. Todays game confirmed how even these teams were. Bob the Screenprinter jumped out to a 4-0 lead on two Olivia Mora baskets. Taylor Smith responded with a basket and Bob the Screenprinter held onto a 4-2 at the end of the first quarter.

Caitling Drouin added two points to tie the game 4-4, Emma Hodgman scored and Smith added two more baskets to complete an 8-0 run by Allied Engineering that put them up 10-4. Bob the Screenprinter began a 6-0 run in the final two two minutes of the first game that tied the game 10-10 at halftime. Allison Kirby got the run going with a free throw, Julia Ricker hit a bucket with 0:46 left on the clock. Phelan Gelzer hit a free throw and Mora finished out the first half scoring with a basket with 0:10 left on the clock.

Lily-Ann Rich hit a free throw to start the second half scoring and Drouin added a basket to put Allied ahead 13-10. Avery Rolfe answered with a bucket and Ricker added a free throw to lock the teams at 13-13 at the end of the third quarter.

Grace Sawyer put Allied ahead for good with her basket to give Allied a 17-15 lead. Smith added another hoop for Allied and Ricker answered with a basket to pull Bob the Screenprinter to within 19-17. Ricker's basket ended up being the last score of the game as fourth seeded Allied Engineering made the improbably run to a championship.
