On fourth down, the Eagles couldn’t stop Portland. So, with first and goal, Portland executed a quarterback keeper to get on the board. They also added a two point conversion to go up 8-0. As the first quarter wound down, the Eagles began their own drive. However, on fourth and 10, Windham attempted a reverse play that worked very well in the Varsity game and it was foiled by Portland. Portland moved quickly and got on the board again. The Eagles stopped the two point conversion.
Windham’s offense continued to sputter as Portland’s defense stifled them. The Eagles turned the ball over again on downs and Portland took control and marched 46 yards in two plays to get another touchdown. They added the two points to make the score 22-0. Again, the Eagles repeated the scenario. Portland took control and converted the possession to another touchdown. They added the two points to seal the half at 30-0.

In the second half, Windham’s defense came out refreshed and focused. They allowed only five yards in Portland’s first possession and the Eagle offense took control at their own 49. As the offense started to warm up and move the ball, the cooling effect of a fumble chilled the Eagle offense as the defense was again called into action. Windham’s defense rose to the occasion and stopped the Portland drive. The Eagles started at the Portland 33. Desmond Leslie completed a pass to Tom McAvoy for a 31 yard advance. Leslie scored on a quarterback keeper and did the same to convert the two points to get the Eagles on the board with just over three minutes left in the game. Mitchell Delcourt attempted an onside kick. Portland defended well, took possession and didn’t make any mistakes to end the game.
