Bonny Eagle holds off Windham 38-31
WMS 7th Grade Girls Basketball

Windham, ME: Bonny Eagle defeated the Windham Middle School seventh grade girls basketball team 38-31 in Windham. Lindsey Arsenault scored nine points, Mya Mannette and Shelby Sampson scored eight points each in the losing effort.

Holly Spencer scored the first basket of the game. Bonny Eagle answered with an 8-0 run before Shelby Sampson scored for the Eagles. Bonny Eagle added a free throw and Sampson scored again before the end of the quarter. Bonny Eagle led 9-6 at the end of the first quarter.

Mya Mannette broke a Bonny Eagle 4-0 run to start the second quarter with her first basket of the game. Bonny Eagle went on another 4-0 run before Arsenault made a free throw. Thalia Lorenzetti added a basket before Bonny Eagle made two more baskets. Mannette scored the final basket of the quarter to cut Bonny Eagle's halftime lead to 21-13.

Bonny Eagle edged Windham 9-8 in the third quarter. Arsenault had three baskets and Sampson added another to keep Windham close in the quarter. Bonny Eagle extended their lead to 30-21 at the end of the third quarter.

Windham edged Bonny Eagle 10-8 in the final quarter. Sampson started the fourth quarter going two for two from the foul line. Mannette scored three straight Windham buckets and Arsenault closed out the scoring. Bonny Eagle held off a late surge to win the game 38-31.
