Eagles Improve to 3-1 with dominant 31-22 win

Windham, ME: The Windham Middle School 8th grade boys basketball team improved to 3-1 with a dominating 31-22 win over King Middle School. Zach Hough led a group of 11 different Windham scorers with five points and Kyle Kilfoil chipped in four points in the team effort.

It was all Windham early on as the Eagles held King scoreless in the first half. Zach Hough got the scoring started with a basket from the foul line. Zach Lacombe, Kyle Cidre and Kyle Kilfoil all followed with two-pointers to give Windham a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

DJ Hoskins started the second quarter with six straight points. Bryce Rolfe and Spencer Sampson followed with their own two-pointers and Patrick Leavitt capped the second quarter scoring with a point off a foul throw. Windham took an 18-0 lead into halftime.

Kilfoil opened the second half with another bucket and Eric Webb got into the book with a basket to give Windham a commanding 22-0 lead. King scored their first points of the game with four minutes remaining in the third quarter. Cidre scored a free throw and Hough added another basket to make it 25-4. King added a free throw and Leavitt put Windham ahead 27-5 at the end of three quarters.

King opened the fourth quarter with a 12-0 run before Tyler Johnson got the Eagle offense flying again. Lacombe hit a free throw and Hough closed out the Windham scoring with his second two-pointer of the game. King scored the final five points of the contest and the Eagles held on for their third consecutive win.
