Scarborough defeats Windham 36-23

Scarborough, ME: Scarborough defeated Windham 36-23 in seventh grade basketball on Monday afternoon. Mitchell Delcourt led Windham with six points and Cameron Hoffses contributed five points for the Eagles.

Ezra Boynton put Windham ahead 2-0 followed by a basket by James Mannettte. Scarborough tied the score at 4-4 before Cameron Hoffses hit a free throw to give Windham a 5-4 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Scarborough opened the second quarter with a 10-0 run before Delcourt scored Windham's first points of the period. Scarborough scored a basket and Zach Petcher answered with one of his own. Scarborough hit a three pointer before Delcourt hit his second basket of the quarter. Scarborough led 19-11 at halftime.

Scarborough dominated the third quarter outscoring the Eagles 10-2 with Hoffses scoring the only Windham points of the period. Scarborough built their lead to 29-13 at the end of three quarters.

Windham got back on track in the fourth quarter. Mannette and Hoffses opened the fourth quarter scoring with back to back buckets before Scarborough answered with four points of their own. Petcher went two for two from the line and Declourt closed out the scoring with his third basket of the game as Scarborough held on to the 36-23 win.

Windham plays at Mahoney on Wednesday December 7th.
