Windham Little Leaguers Could win $5k with your help

Windham, ME: With some help from the community, Windham Little League (WLL) could win $5,000 from a contest that WLL fundraising coordinator Shelly Afthim entered.

Honda is sponosring the contest to design a commemorative trading pin for the 2011 Little League World Series that that they will give out to thousands of little league fans. The winning design must include all of the following elements:
- A baseball theme
- Approved Honda logo (Download)
- The year as: 2011 or '11
- The text: "Official Vehicle of Little League Baseball®"

Afthim, a mother of two Windham Little Leaguers was recently notified that her design was one of five national finalists. The design with the most votes through May 11, 2011 will earn their program $5,000. Please help Afthim and Windham Little League win this money that will directly benefit all of Windham's Little Leaguers.

When asked how the money might be spent if her design wins Afthim replied "My long term goal is for Windham Little League to have a Field of Dreams complex and that is why I volunteered for the newly created board position of Fundraising Director, because I want to see it happen, if not for my Little League players, hopefully for future players."

The judging criteria are:

Originality and creativity (40%)
How well the design looks as a pin(30%)
How much the design captures the spirit of Little League Baseball® (30%)

After the Finalists are picked, the Grand Prize Winner will be determined based on:

- the greatest number of eligible votes received during the Voting Period (80%)

- highest score received from the Contest Judges during the Judging Period (20%)

The Grand Prize Winner will have his or her design professionally rendered into a real trading pin and he or she will receive 50 to give to friends and family.
