Although it’s a contact sport for boys, the majority of all injuries are lower extremity running injuries. The same is true for girls’ lacrosse.

We discussed the possibility of getting corporate sponsorship to help with start-up costs and scholarships for those unable to afford registration.

CLINICS-
In January, the WHS boys varsity coach, Chris Shorr has agreed to set up some Sunday afternoon, “learn to play” clinics so kids can get a chance to get their hands on a stick and ball to try things out before having to decide baseball or lacrosse. MORE INFO COMING SOON.

Registration-
We discussed a registration night in February where there would be a motivational intro speaker, and tables set up for fundraising, individual team registration, equipment sizing and ordering and uniform purchasing. With our season expected to start in APRIL 2011. Expectations are 1-2 practices per night based on age and 1-2 games per weekend on Saturdays. Games will be scheduled thru the Maine Amateur Lacrosse League.

President – Doug Mc Innis
