Freeport ME:
After suffering a first round loss in the
Freeport Travel Basketball League's double
elimination tournament last week the Windham
Fifth grade boys team bounced back with a
27-25 victory over Scarborough.

Austin
McGowan led Windham with 11 points.
Mitchell
Delcourt got the scoring going for Windham
with a basket to open the game. Cameron
Hoffses came up big inside all day pulling
down rebounds and adding some points on
offense. Austin McGowan, Chris Brown and Ben
McDonald added first half points and Windham
led 15-10 at the half.

Scarborough
stormed back in the second half and regained
the lead with 8:24 left in the game. Austin
McGowan went to the line with Windham
trailing 22-21 with 3:35 left in the game.
McGowan went 1 for 2 to tie the game.
Scarbrorough answered with their own 1 for 2
trip to the line before McGowan was fouled
again. McGowan went 1 for 2 to tie the game
23-23. The gmae remained tied until McGowan
found a line on the right side and took the
baseline to the hoop to sink a floater with
1:00 left in regulation. McGowan found
himself at the foul line again. He sank 1
out of 2 shots to give Windham a 26-23 lead.
Scarborough was fouled and hit both shots to
pull the game to within a point, 26-25.
Delcourt went 1 for 2 from the line to
secure the win.
Windham earned
another game at Freeport Middle School at
4:30PM today.
