Windham-Despite the sweltering
conditions, Windham’s Junior Legion
improved their record to 7-1 defeating
South Portland 3-0.
Riley
Williamson was the starting pitcher for
Windham and finished the game recording
six strikeouts and allowed two walks.
Williamson got his offensive help from
Joe Bryant, Code Dube and Joe Francoeur.

In the
first inning, Joe Bryant reached base on
a single. Bryant reached second on a
passed ball and got to third on Cody
Dube’s fielder’s choice. Shawn
Francoeur hit a single to centerfield to
drive Bryant in and record the winning
run.
In the
third inning, Cody Dube found the plate
after reaching base on an error by the
South Portland third baseman. Dube was
driven in on a single hit by Dylan
Taylor.

In the
sixth inning, Windham loaded the bases.
Joe Francoeur started things off with a
single. John Weymouth was hit by a
pitch and Nick Sundquist drew a walk.
Joe Bryant hit a single to drive in
Francoeur to add another insurance run.
Catch the
Windham Junior Legion Squad this
Thursday in Windham at 5:30 when they
face Cumberland.
