Portland:
The Windham Eagles (1-7) suffered a loss
at the hands of the McAuley Lions (6-1)
25-0. McAuley’s attacking offense was
key in the defeat.

While
McAuley's program is on the rise, the
Windham program is in transition in
Coach Mark Tucker's first year with the
Eagles.

In the
first inning, McAuley’s Gabby Townsend
retired the Eagles in order. McAuley
came to bat and went through their
line-up and generated 6 runs. Allina
Verillo cranked a home run to right
field to record 2 RBI’s. Nicole Kennedy
ended the inning on a beautiful double
play. In the second, Townsend again put
the Eagles down in order. McAuley’s
attack continued. Windham faced 22
batters in a 16 run scoring spree by the
Lions. The Eagles changed pitchers late
in the inning. Nicole Kennedy came on
in relief of Elizabeth Silvius. Kennedy
faced five batters before the inning
ended.
