surge and defeated Windham 40-39 on Hannah
Ebling's game winning shot at the buzzer.
Eagles
Point Guard Meghan Gribbin led all scorers
with 18 points.
Windham jumped
out to a 13-8 lead at the end of the first
quarter on six points from Meghan Gribbin,
three free throws by Kelsey McGowan and a
basket from Olivia Hurd. Ebling scored six
of Thornton Academy's eight points.

The second
quarter was all Thornton Academy, scoring 15
points on two three-pointers by Alanna
Richard, five points by Lauren Titus and two
points by Meghan Agger. Windham's points
came from Gribbin and a free throw by
McGowan.
Windham's
Bebe Butts went to the floor to wrap up the
ball with the Thornton Academy Player.
Titus tied the
game at 15-15 and followed that up with her
three pointer. Richard hit one of her two
three-pointers. Thornton capped the scoring
when they found Agger alone underneath on an
inbounds play and she put in the easy layup
for the 23-16 halftime lead.

Windham
controlled the third quarter and outscored
Thornton by a score of 14-2 to erase the
seven point halftime deficit.

Thornton
scored first in the third quarter before the
Eagles went on a 14-0 run. Gribbin scored 10
of those points including a three point
play, a three-pointer, and three baskets.
One of Gribbin's baskets came on a great
pass from Diandra Berthiaume. McGowan added
the other four points. Thornton capped the
scoring with their only other basket of the
quarter. Windham led 30-27 after three
quarters.

The game
tightened up in the fourth quarter with 6
lead changes plus three ties before Ebling
hit her game winning shot as the last second
ticked away. Ebling scored eight points on
the night and is listed as a level four
