Windham ME:
Nolan Allen put Windham ahead for good with
29 seconds left in the game before Windham
pulled away for a 51-41 win against
Portland.
It was a
tight, back and forth battle all night
between two SMAA teams.
Andy Brix
started the Windham scoring with a three
pointer. Windham jumped out to a 8-3 lead on
5 points from Garrett Clemmer including a
three point shot of his own. Jackson Taylor
added two free throws and Windham led 10-8
after the first quarter.

Koange Thok
of Portland brings the ball up court.
Koange Thok
had four of Portland's first quarter points.
Neither team
could find the net early in the second
quarter until Nolan Allen scored with 4:44
left in the quarter. Allen scored again
before Stephen Lambert made a great layup to
give Windham a 16-15 lead with 1:18 to go in
the half. Windham gained possession of the
ball and stalled for close to a minute but
Jackon Taylor's shot didnt find its mark and
Portland raced the length of the floor. Joe

first half.
Portland's

Clemmer got
the scoring going in the third quarter on
two free throws. Then Jackson Taylor made a
great pass to Allen inside who tipped it in
off the glass to tie the game at 20-20.
Stover hit a three pointer before Allen
answered with a three pointer of his own to
make it 23-23. Zukowski answered with a
three pointer. Clemmer added two buckets to
keep Windham within one point, trailing
28-27 at the end of the third quarter.
Brix opened
the scoring in the wild fourth quarter to
put Windham ahead 29-28. Allen followed it
up with a strong drive to the hoop that
resulted in a three point play and a 32-28
Windham lead. Stover made it a two point
game before Thok tied it 32-32 with 4:58
left in the game. Allen went to the line
again, hitting both free throws to give
Windham a two point lead before Zubowski hit
another three pointer to give Portland a
35-34 edge. Clemmer put Windham ahead by one
and Jackson Taylor extended the lead to
38-35 before Zukowski's two point brought
the Bulldogs back to within one point.
Clemmer hit
two free throws and Thok added four points
on a basket and two free throws to give
Portland a 41-40 lead. Then sophomore
standout Nolan Allen made a great spin move
driving the baseline, scoring the basket and
drawing a foul with 29.9 seconds left that
put Windham ahead for good, 43-41.

Nick Taylor
inbounds the ball to Adam Szklany.
That was the
point a great contest turned ugly when
emotions got the best of the Portland Bench
which was called for a technical foul.
Clemmer hit both free throws and the teams
headed to their benches for a timeout. When
Windham didn't return to the floor in time
the Portland Bench's complaints earned them
another technical and an early exit for the
coach. Clemmer hit both free throws putting
Windham ahead 47-41 before the ball was ever
put back in play after Allen's basket.
Emotions were
still high on the Portland side which
resulted in a flagrant foul. Clemmer hit
three of the four free throws. In that span
Clemmer hit another free throw on a non
violent foul. In all Clemmer hit 8 free
throws in the final 30 seconds and help
Windham to the 51-41 victory.
Windham Coach

with their composure."
When asked if
he was referring to the end of the game
Millington responded, "At the end, and
