Windham
ME: With 10 of 13 players putting points
on the board, the Windham Eagles First
Basketball Team defeated Gorham 47-30.
The first
quarter started off like a foot race.
It was a low scoring, mad dash that left
no team in control. Up and down the
court with blocked shots, blocked passes
and just maddening speed for both
teams. At the conclusion the fans took
a breath and the score was locked at
nine apiece.

The pace
slowed a bit in the second quarter and
the Eagles went on a scoring spree
(17-7) that gave them the lead to end
the half. Those points would give the
Eagles the scoring buffer needed to seal
the victory later in the game.

In the
third quarter, the Eagles managed to
stretch their lead further. The bench
came on and held things well in control
for the Eagles. The fourth quarter was
a more even match, but the Eagles held
off the charging Rams to seal the
victory. In all, ten players
contributed to the scoring effort.
Shawn Francoeur led Windham with 15
points. Joe Francoeur had nine points.
Calvin Field, Brad Carpentier and Connor
Flynn each had four.
Catch the
Eagles next Friday as they take on the
