Rout Raptors in 2010 Opener, 17-0

BROOKLYN, NY – The St.
Joe’s Men’s Lacrosse team opened up the 2010 season
with a 17-0 triumph over Bard College on Saturday
evening. Dylan Chase ’13 (West Newbury, MA) led the
Monks with 4 goals and 5 total points in the
lopsided victory.
Paul Dolewa ’12 (Saco,
ME) added 3 goals and an assist and Benson
Pasquarello ’12 (Kennebunk, ME) tallied a pair of
markers and a helper for Saint Joseph’s. Luke
LaFreniere ’10 (Alton, NH) netted two scores and
Alexander Stone ’13 (Lewiston, ME) contributed a
goal and a pair of assists in his first collegiate
action.
Jonathan Horgan ’12
(Hingham, MA), Ross Hardaway ’11 (East Boston, MA),
Tookie Amosun ’11 (Gardiner, ME), Stephen Lucafo ’10
(Raymond, NH) and Sean Flanagan ’13 (Hingham, MA)
also netted goals for the Monks.
St. Joe’s scored early
and often in its 2010 opener, as the Royal Blue
scored three goals – two by Pasquarello – in the
first five minutes of play and sailed to a 7-0
halftime lead. When the final buzzer rang after four
periods, the Monks had earned the program’s
first-ever shutout win and broke the team
single-game record for margin of victory.
Saint Joseph’s also
set new marks for team groundballs (70) and
groundballs collected by an individual (Chase, 12)
in the win.
Marco Stefano ’12
(Steep Falls, ME) started in net for the Monks and
made 5 stops in 30 minutes before giving way to
Christopher Driscoll ’13 (Saco, ME), who made 2
saves in 30 minutes of mop-up duty.
The Monks will cap
their trip to New York with a game against Mount St.
Vincent on Sunday at 5:30 PM.
