The 11U Firecrackers basketball
team captured the state AAU 11U
championship this past weekend.
After losing to
the Maniacs on Friday night by a score of 38-30,
the Firecrackers defeated their next two
opponents to force a re-match on Sunday
afternoon. The Firecrackers took the early lead
against the Maniacs and never looked back,
downing them 38-30 to capture the state title.
Among the
Firecrackers team members are Windham 6th
graders Katie Herzig and Sadie Nelson. The team
is made up of 6th graders from Falmouth,
Cumberland, Scarborough, Windham and North
Conway, NH, and is coached by Mike Jefferds and
Chris Mars.
