Friday
Dec 26th and Saturday Dec 27th the
6th grade boys travel team
participated in the Scarborough
Holiday Basketball Tournament.
They
played 2 games on Friday and 3 games
on Saturday. Friday they played
Scarboro-Warren at 2:15pm and won
53-43 excellent game.
At
4:45pm they played Bonney Eagle and
also won 32-24 another great game.
Saturday at 8am they played
Biddeford and won 42-24 it was very
exciting to watch and the team
really played great offensively and
defensively. Many players who had
not scored before scored some of
their first points during this
game.
They
played their 4th game of the
tournament at 10:30am against Cape
Elizabeth this was a high scoring
game for the boys 53-39 was the
final, Windham wins 4 in a row.
This
win gave them a fifth game which was
the Championship game against
another Scarborough team, Scarboro-Freeman.
This game was played at 6pm and at
the half the boys had an 8 point
lead. Scarborough came back strong
and unfortunately Windham lost
43-35, but the game was outstanding
and very exciting to watch. Windham
had strong defense, but the baskets
were not dropping as well in the
last part of the second half. The
boys played strong to the very end
never giving up or hanging their
heads.
