Greely2 downs Windham in final minutes

ME: The Windham fifth grade boys travel
basketball team dropped a close battle 27-24
to Greely2 in the final minutes on Saturday.
Windham jumped
out to a 6-2 lead early in the first half on
baskets by Mitchell Delcourt, Tommy Leavitt
and Ben McDonald. Then Greely2 charged back
and took a 8-6 lead at halftime on a three
pointer with five seconds left in the half.
Windham
ready to defend.
Big Man Tommy
Leavitt took control of the early minutes of
the second half, scoring six straight points
to tie the game 12-12 with 9:30 to go in the
second half. Chris Brown tied the game at
14-14 and Ethan Spaulding put Windham ahead
16-14. Delcourt hit a basket to tie it again
at 18-18.
Windham took
another lead when Austin McGowan found
McDonald with a great pass and McDonald hit
the shot to make it 20-18 Windham. Greely
tied it up before Delcourt hit another
basket to give Windham their final lead of
the game.

Leavitt and
Delcourt led Windham with eight points each,
McDonald had four points and Chris Brown and
Ethan Spaulding chipped in two points each.
