Windham-
Windham Jr. Legion hosted Lewiston for a
double header that was rescheduled from
last weekend.
In game
one, Lewiston prevailed 5-3 over
Windham. Devin Lailer went six innings
and gave up the winning runs in the
sixth inning, the last he pitched.
Windham’s Micah Sawyer blasted a solo
home run in the fifth inning to help the
Windham squad and also scored in the
seventh, but his efforts were to no
avail as Lewiston’s pitching kept the
Windham batters guessing.
After a
hot dog lunch put on by the Windham team
parents, both teams took the field
again. Fans and players alike enjoyed
the summer conditions that the day
brought.

Windham
struck in the first inning when Dylan
Taylor scampered across the plate to put
Windham up. Lewiston answered in the
third inning with two runs. Kyle
Williams answered those runs with a
home run shot of his own over the left
field fence to tie the game in the
bottom of the third. The game remained
tied for 9 more innings. With Lewiston
runners on second and third, Windham
pitcher Kyle Williams threw a wild pitch
giving Lewiston the lead. Windham’s
bats were making contact in the bottom
of the 13th, but the Lewiston defense
fielded everything cleanly to end the
game.
