Windham Football Coach, Players Receive

Windham ME: With success comes rewards. The
Windham High School Football team collected the top
team prize almost two weeks ago when they beat
Bangor 35-21 to win the "gold ball", the football
shaped trophy awarded to State Champions.
That kind of team
success is usually followed with individual awards
that recognize the individual efforts that made it
possible. There were a lot of awards handed out at
the Windham High School football team's banquet on
Wednesday night.
Windham Athletic
Director Steve Merrill awarded Windham football
coach Matt Perkins the 2009 SMAA Coach of the Year
Award.
Jack Mallis is
cleaning up in individual awards. He has been named
the Gatorade Maine Football Player of the Year. He
was selected as an All Conference (SMAA All Stars)
running back and given the SMAA Dave Allen Award.
Mallis is also one of the semifinalists for the
Fitzpatrick

which will be awarded January 17, 2010.

Maine Sunday Telegram's MVP in High School Football.
Four Windham players
named to "Telegram All-State Football" Team

UPDATED January 17, 2010:
Jack Mallis
collected more hardware today. Mallis was named the
winner of the 39th Fitzpatrick Award. The award is
given to Maine's top senior high school football
player each year. Mallis is the first player from
Windham to win the award.
