Windham Football Coach, Players Receive Awards

High School Football

December 4, 2009

Windham ME: With success comes rewards. The Windham High School Football team collected the top team prize almost two weeks ago when they beat Bangor 35-21 to win the "gold ball", the football shaped trophy awarded to State Champions.

Windham Athletic Director Steve Merrill awarded Windham football coach Matt Perkins the 2009 SMAA Coach of the Year Award.

Jack Mallis is cleaning up in individual awards. He has been named the Gatorade Maine Football Player of the Year. He was selected as an All Conference (SMAA All Stars) running back and given the SMAA Dave Allen Award. Mallis is also one of the semifinalists for the Fitzpatrick
