WINDHAM ME: Windham thumps Gorham 40-6 to rebound from their loss to Cheverus a week ago.

After winning the toss, Gorham took possession.  They worked the ground game and drove up the field and scored.  Windham’s defense crashed on the Rams to stop the two-point conversion.  Windham would answer in the first when Jack Mallis took the ball 16 yards to tie the score.  Kicker, Matt Coffee broke the tie with a successful PAT kick.

Windham’s defense came together and got to the Gorham offense.  In the second quarter, Windham put together two scoring drives.  The first was culminated by Kyle Williams 22 yard TD run, followed by Matt Coffee PAT.  The second was Jack Mallis’ 20 yard scramble, followed by another Coffee PAT.

At the start of the third, Windham took possession on its own 24.  After a few plays, Jack Mallis rambled 43 yards to further the Eagle lead.  Coffee again booted the PAT to make the score 28-6.  The Windham defense continued to pressure the Ram defense throughout the remainder of the game.  Gorham attempted to convert on fourth down, the Eagles stopped Gorham on their own 48.  On the first play, Mallis again headed for the end zone some 52 yards away.  Coffee would miss his first PAT of the game.

In the fourth, with Gorham pressuring, Senior Matt Wilson dove on a loose ball to give the Eagles possession on their own 18.  On the first play from scrimmage, Matt Gledhill sprinted 82 yards to put another six points on the board for Windham.  Matt Coffee would not be successful kicking into the wind.

Catch the Eagles next week as they take on Deering.
