Windham
ME: With an even game in the first half
and a foul infested second, the Windham
Eagles suffered their first loss of the
season to Biddeford 53-46.
In the
first quarter, Windham was only down by
a point and in the second, maintained
that deficit to go into the locker room
with a 23-24 score. Both teams
committed six fouls each in the first
quarter.

In the
third quarter, the game got aggressive
and the whistles started blowing. At
one point in the quarter, Windham had 8
fouls to Biddeford’s 2 and the Eagles
were getting banged up on the offensive
side of the court. Despite that, the
Eagles managed to out-score the Tigers
16-12 to take a three point lead in the
third quarter.
Biddeford’s two-three zone really began
to click as did their full court press
to cause Eagle turnovers Biddeford went
to the line numerous times in the fourth
quarter as Windham couldn’t penetrate
the offensive zone effectively.
Shawn
Francoeur led the Eagle scoring with
13. Brother Joe had eight, Isaac Gurney
had seven and Connor Flynn had six
points. Four other players contributed
to the scoring effort for Windham.
Leading Biddeford was Leblond with 25
points.

Eagles this Friday as they take on the
Cheverus Stags in Portland.
