Fryeburg-After a delayed start,
Windham’s first team prevailed against
the Fryeburg Academy Raiders 58-48.
Windham’s
Boys Basketball First Team walked into
the gym at 3:25 for a 3:30pm game. They
had a five minute warm up and got off to
a slow start. The Raiders controlled
the tempo, the ball and the game when
the end of the first quarter sounded,
leading the Eagles by 5.

With the
Francoeur twins and Connor Flynn in
South Portland for the JV game and Jake
Perry out sick, the Eagles bench was not
the same. However, in the second
quarter, Hawreh Haddadi, back from being
injured came out and sank a bucket and
followed with a three-pointer. He then
added two more baskets to help the
Eagles to notch the score at 26 for the
half.

In the
second half, the Eagles came out and
battled. At the end of the third, the
game was still tied. The Raiders also
got into foul trouble in the fourth with
their big man, #50 fouling out. Calvin
Field put in 13 of his 20 points in the
second half and Haddadi would add a 15
points. In all, seven out of nine
players contributed to the final score
of 58 to give the Eagles the victory.
