Despite 6
turnovers, Windham’s first team
controlled the young Rams in a 26-6 win
Friday afternoon.
Windham
lost the coin toss but got the ball
back. Windham drove deep into Ram
territory but fumbled, giving
Deering the possession. At the
beginning of the second quarter, the
Eagle defense was huge in pinning the
Rams deep. Windham took control and Dan
Stewart ran in touchdown. Christian
Coons passed to Damian Shepard to put
the Eagles up 8-0. Later in the
quarter, another Shepard reception from
Colby Waterhouse put another 6 on the
board for the Eagles. The Rams held
tough and stopped the Eagle two point
conversion.

To start
the second half, Dan Stewart receives
the kick and charges up field. He was
met hard by the Ram kicking team and
fumbled the ball. Windham’s defense
came on to attempt to regain
possession. However, Deering put
together a mix of passing and running
plays that saw them quickly get to the
end zone. The Eagle defense stopped the
Ram two point conversion and led 14-6.

On the
next Windham possession, Christian Coons
put together a strong run and Dan
Stewart attempted to follow. He again
took a sharp hit and fumbled the ball
for Windham. However, Isaac Gurney
intercepted a Deering pass to give
Windham possession. Windham then put
together a strong offensive move that
finished with Colby Waterhouse break
through the line and score a 10 yard
touchdown.

After the
kickoff, Windham’s defense was stellar.
They forced possession on downs when
Deering chose to go for a fourth down
conversion. Windham started from their
own 42. Colby Waterhouse took the QB
keeper 58 yards, outrunning the Ram
defense for the touchdown. The Rams
stopped the two point conversion.
Windham’s First Team is now 3-0.
