Windham Knights Battle Saco (Gold)

After a spectacular win by the Senior squad, the junior knights took to the field. After a quick start by Saco and an early Saco touchdown, Windham’s defense held the 2 point conversion.

 

The offense came on and began to shine. The front line opened a pocket and Dylan Koza had a 30 yard run for Windham to score the first touchdown. The 2 point conversion was good and Windham took the lead 8-6.

 

Strong defense held off Saco and before the half Koza ran again for over 50 yards for the second Windham touchdown.  Windham was up 16 to 6. Saco had a chance on the last play before the half, but the runner was knocked out of bounds at the 10 yard line.

 

The second half started with 2 Windham players being pulled from the JV game due to hitting maximum playtime in both games.

 

Leaving a small squad behind, Saco gold came on strong. Windham worked hard, but the Saco team was too much for them. The final score was 28-16 Saco over Windham Knights.

 

The Junior knights will be back in action at home next weekend against Scarborough Red.
