The Windham Varsity Knights and Saco Gold teams met
on Saturday, October 11th, for a thrilling game in
Saco.
The Knights showed Saco they were there to play when
#20 (Dylan Koza) picked off the pass on Saco's first
offensive play. The first quarter ended without
either team scoring.
Tanner Laberge carried for more than 60 yards just
in the second quarter. He carried in for a touch
down but the two-point conversion was unsuccessful.
Saco came right back to tie it up again to end the
first half of the game.

The third quarter highlights included Neal Larson
taking the ball in for a touchdown. The two-point
conversion was good with a pass to Patrick Leavitt.
Dylan Koza picked off another pass in the 2nd half
and ran it for 30 yards. The Knights were ahead
20-14 at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Saco
tied it up in the last 12 seconds of the game.
Coach Howard took out the Rules Book and let the
Saco coach and officials know that he wanted to go
into overtime. Each team was going to have 4 plays
from the 10 yard line.
The Knights loss the
toss and were up for offense first. Tanner Laberge
was able to get into the end zone and it was 26-20!
It was Saco's turn up
at offense but, like it did throughout the entire
game, the defensive line was able to hold them back.
