Westbrook ME: Windham
Middle School defeated Wescott Junior High 47-23 in
eighth grade boys basketball on Tuesday.
Windham's
starting squad of Hawreh Haddadi, Calvin Field, Joe
Francoeur, Brad Carpentier and Christian Coons
calmly took the floor and the lead in the first
quarter with an 8-2 run.
In
the second quarter, Dylan Weisser, Shawn Francoeur,
Spencer Noel, Jake Perry and Jordin Allen took the
floor. In relief, Colby Waterhouse and Isaac Gurney
came in. This group managed to put up 15 points to
Wescott’s 7 to keep the lead out of reach.
After the half and with the required playing time
put behind, Wescott tried to move on the Windham
Eagles. The Eagles came to play and play they did.

Colby Waterhouse, playing in his first ever school
basketball game put in his first career basket.
Brad Carpentier buried two of his own as well and
Spencer Noel notched one.

In
the fourth, scoring came from all sides of the Eagle
squad and defense was key.
Shawn Francoeur led scorers with 13. 10 out of 12
players put points on the board for the Eagles.

Coach Fullerton was pleased with his squad’s play.
Catch the Eagles this Thursday at Windham Middle
School as they take on the Gorham Rams at 3:30pm.
