Windham
jumped out to an early lead before Bonny
Eagle stormed back to claim a 51-41
victory.
For the
first time all year, we were able to get
out to a fast start and put some points
on the board and have a nice lead
heading into the second quarter. Nobody
on Bonny Eagle could stop John Clark.
He was getting in good position and
really came up huge for us in that
quarter.
In the
second quarter, we had a very difficult
time containing Dustin Cole (#14). He
got where he wanted to on offense and
caused a lot of turnovers on defense.
We simply could not stay in front of him
on defense and the help was getting
there far too late. We hung around and
were able to keep it close heading into
halftime.
In the
second half, we simply had a hard time
putting the ball into the hoop. It
wasn’t that we weren’t getting the
shots; it is just that they were not
falling for us yesterday. I felt we
were aggressive enough on offense, as
evident by the 25 free throw attempts we
took. However, we were only able to
make eight of them which really hurt
us. We made some careless errors on
defense and committed too many fouls.
When Bonny Eagle got to the free throw
line, they were doing a much better job
converting than we were.
There is
no doubt in my mind we will be better
prepared next time we face them and
hopefully the game will end in our
favor.
