The Windham
Little League 9-10 All Stars team had a
great weekend.
The District 6 Little
League tournament started this past weekend
in
Westbrook. 16 teams
are battling through a double elimination
bracket that spreads games over two fields,
from 9:00 in the Morning till 9:00 at night.
All this to determine
who is the best in this district. Saturday,
behind the arm of Tyler Johnson Windham
defeated Buxton 10 - 0 in 5 innings of play.
It only took 66 pitches for Tyler to shut
down the opposing team.
Tyler had a lot of
help, the team did an excellent job at the
plate with a total of 11 hits! Notable
performances by Colby Wallace going 2 for 3,
Josh Dugas 2 for 2 and Patrick Leavitt with
a big game breaking double in the 4th
inning.
They got right back at
it on Sunday with a 4 run first inning, as
they played Scarborough in the winners
brackett. Tanner Laberge led off the game
with a double and this was followed by hits
from Aaron Grant, Colby Wallace, Patrick
Leavitt and Tyler Johnson. This 4 run jump
start was all that Windham needed as they
got yet another great pitching performance
form Colby Wallace.
Colby pitched 4 and 2/3
innings- he recorded 12 strike outs and left
the game in the hands of Tanner Laberge who
closed out the game with 4 strikeouts of his
own. The final score was Windham 4 and
Scar, 1.
