WINDHAM SCHOOL BOARD SANCTIONS HIGH
SCHOOL HOCKEY TEAM
Last night by a vote of 5 to 1, the
Windham School board voted to sanction
the HS hockey team... the is a major
step in developing a competitive hockey
team for our High Schools... this
officially recognizes team by the school
department and can now be listed on
schedules, rosters, etc and Windham/Sacopee
Valley Hockey... this will give the
players from Windham all the rights,
prevliges and rules of the Windham HS
Athletic Department...
the Western Maine Wings boosters will
still be responsable for funding of the
team, but we have a signifigant fund
raising program in progress selling
raffle tickets for a Red Sox v. Yankees
game, in September with a limo ride to
and from the game... this fund raiser
has the potential to greatly reduce or
even eliminate the player fee, if we can
get good participation... please see our
