Windham’s B Squad Loses
Tough Battle to Saco 20-6

The
Junior Eagles started off winning the toss but that
is as far as the winning went as Saco completed
passes to defeat Windham 20-0. Windham was forced
to punt on its first possession. Saco wasted no
time and went to the air and scored. The Eagle
defense got together and stopped the two point
conversion attempt.

Windham’s next series of possessions were
compilations of turnovers. Dan Stewart fumbled and
Saco recovered. Saco fumbled and Windham
recovered.
Norman Watson then tried a pass and it was
picked by a Junior Trojan defender. Saco went to
the air again using the halfback pass to score.
Windham’s defense answered the call again and denied
the two point conversion.

The
second half saw matters get worse for the Eagles.
On the kick off to Saco, the Junior Trojan running
back found the end zone and to add salt to a very
open wound, the Eagles were called on a face mask
penalty. Saco found the end zone on the
conversion.

The
Eagles again tried to make a move. On fourth and
two, quarterback
Watson extended the count and got the Trojans to
violate the neutral zone resulting in a first down.

fumbled and the drive was temporarily stopped.
Windham’s defense still played hard and held the
Trojans from converting on fourth and 12.

With time running out, the Eagles started running
outside. Isaac Gurney had a huge rush on the left
side that was called back on a holding penalty. On
second and long, Gurney again took the ball to the
right side and scrambled 63 yards and scored. Saco
defense stopped the two point conversion.
