In an unusual twist, the
B squad game was played first and the Junior
Eagles set the tone in their defeat of
Kittery 41-6.
The Kittery squads
numbered 23 in total, so players in the B
game would also see some action in the A
game. However, having to deal with that was
no issue for the Eagles.

Windham lost the toss and
kicked off to Kittery. In usual stead,
Windham’s defense forced the Sharks to
punt. Dan Stewart carried the ball twice to
put the Eagles on the board. He also added
the two point conversion to make the score
8-0.

On the Shark’s second
possession Windham’s
Owen Kelnhofer intercepted a pass on the
Kittery 32.
#34, Liam Sullivan’s two carries put the
Eagles up and Tony Taylor kicked the PAT to
make the score 15-0.

In the second quarter,
Windham found itself on the Kittery one yard
line. They fumbled and Kittery took over
only to stand strong again on defense and
force a punt. After a few plays,
Reyanne Matthews
(AOW)
found the end zone to put the Eagles up
21-0.

After the kick off, the
Sharks showed they were not going away
empty-handed. On fourth and five, Kittery
ran a passing play fooling Windham and the
Shark receiver ran 75 yards to put them on
the board. Windham’s defense prevented the
PAT attempt. Windham wasted no time in
responding. On the fourth play, Dan Stewart
ran the ball in and Tony Taylor kicked his
second PAT. Windham cruised into the half
with a 28-6 lead.
The second half saw
Daniel Fournier and Tony Taylor both
convert touchdowns. Taylor scampered fifty
yards. Dan Stewart added the PAT kick. The
Eagle defense held and controlled the Shark
offense and allowed no more points.
The between game
festivities featured the introduction of all
Windham Youth Football players from the
second and third grade squads and the
fourth, fifth and sixth grade squads. As
all teams were announced, they lined up on
mid field and welcomed the next players.
This event was fun for all in attendance.
