WINDHAM:
Windham MS Football took advantage of six
Noble turnovers to mark another victory this
season in defeating the Noble Squires 48-8.

Can you say
blocking?

line pushes Noble aside. He would amble for
a 12 yard TD on this play. Photo By David

Damien Shepard
(AOW)
led the Eagles with three touchdowns and 155
yards rushing.
Colby Waterhouse followed up with a pair
of touchdowns and 121 yards rushing.
To start the game,
Windham kicked off to Noble. On the second
play, Nicky Sundquist recovered a fumble to
set up the first score of the game. On the
first offensive play, Damien Shepard
(AOW)
ran the ball 65 yards down the right side of
the field to record the first points of the
game.
Shawn Francoeur would kick the PAT (5
for 6 on the day).
On the ensuing kick off,
Jordin Allen would recover the ball for the
Eagles. After a handful of plays, Christian
Coons rumbled into the end zone from eleven
yards out.
Francoeur added the PAT to make the
score 14-0.
The Eagles kicked off and
Noble managed a slight advance. During
their offensive possession, Nicky Sundquist
would again come up with the ball to set up
the Eagles next touchdown.
Colby Waterhouse would take the hand off
from QB Field and ramble thirteen yards to
put another six on the board.
Francoeur would add the PAT.

On the Squires next
possession, they would run out of downs and
line up to attempt to convert on fourth
down. On the hike, the running back
actually punted the ball twenty yards to get
the ball away from the Eagle defensive
pressure. That set up the next Eagle
scoring possession. After a few advancing
plays, Damien Shepard
(AOW)
would run twenty one yards to record his
second touchdown. Again,
Francoeur would add the PAT.

Shawn Francoeur nailed the Noble
quarterback and jarred the ball loose,
brother
Joe #54 scooped up the ball and ran 50
yards for Windham's fifth TD. This was
Joe's first career touchdown. Here he

We aren’t even out of the
first quarter yet with the score at 28-0.
Noble still wanted to play and play they
tried. On second down, the quarterback
would be ransacked by #56,
Shawn Francoeur and brother
Joe, #54, would be right there to pick
up the loose ball and run fifty yards to
score his first career touchdown.
Shawn would add the PAT.
Ok, on to the second
quarter and nothing really happens. The
teams would swap possessions but no scoring
would occur. Given the score, the Eagles
are substituting players in to keep things
balanced.
At the start of the
second half, the turnover disease look like
it might have made its way to the Eagle’s
bench. On the kickoff, Josiah Purves missed
the ball and the Squires regained control.
However, it wouldn’t take long for the
Eagles to capitalize on another Squire
turnover.
Colby Waterhouse would be in the right
spot to pick off a pass and run forty six
yards to put another 6 points on the board
for the Eagles. Tony Taylor would add the
PAT for the Eagles.

The only
score against Windham happened on this play.

In the fourth quarter,
the Eagles would miss a Noble back and allow
the first points of the season to be inked
against them. They would also allow a two
point conversion. With points on the board
against them, Windham would move the ball
easily against the Squires.

to the right and ran 36 yards to score

Damien Shepard
(AOW)
took a handoff to the left side of the
field, would change his mind and run to the
opposite side of the field and score on a 36
yard dash that really must have been 72.
The PAT kick was a miss.
Catch the Eagles next
week in York as they battle a building squad
that has recorded some serious W’s in the
past few weeks.
York is #1 in
Heal point standings and a victory is key in
Windham's progress in the season.
