Windham: Under
rainy skies, the two teams faced off. In
the first few minutes of play, it seemed it
would be a close game but Windham’s
offensive and defensive strength would
prevail over the Bonny Eagle Scots 43-0.

#25 Damien
Shepard sprints fifty four yards for
Windham's first touchdown of the game.
Shepard would add 2 more during the game.

In the first
quarter, Windham took control after the kick
off would lose the ball and on the ensuing
possession, Damien Shepard
(AOW)
would
run outside for a 54 yard touchdown.
Shawn Francoeur would boot the PAT.
Shepard
(AOW)
and
Francoeur would repeat in the first
quarter to make the score 14-0 at the
beginning of the second quarter.

Try as they
wanted to, Bonny Eagle struggled to move the
ball against Windham’s strong defense. In
the second quarter,
Joe Francoeur would record a blocked
punt and
Christian Coons and
Jared Libby would sack the Bonny Eagle
quarterback in the end zone to record a
safety. Windham’s offense kicked in and
generated three more touchdowns as well.
Colby Waterhouse would score on a 2 yard
amble,
Christian Coons would be denied at first
from two yards and would make on the second
attempt from one and Josiah Purves broke
several tackles to sprint twenty eight yards
to record six for the Eagles.

In the second
half, the Eagles kicked to the Scots and
eventually would end up with the ball.
Garrick Rogers took his turn at quarterback
and several players saw quality playing
time. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles
would be forced to punt. Damien Shepard
(AOW)
came in to punt the ball. The snap to him
was low and he bobbled the ball. Without
attempting the kick, he ran not only for the
first down but for the end zone some sixty
five yards away. Tony Taylor kicked the
PAT.

Catch a very
important game this coming Sunday at
Windham’s Field 9 as the Eagles face Noble
(2-1). There only loss is to Scarborough
and the Eagles will be looking to avenge
last year’s playoff loss and keep their
undefeated season going.
COMMENTS:
I can't say
enough how proud I am of these boys and
young lady. They are putting in long days of
practice to come out on top. We have a big
game on Sunday September 21st vs Noble.
Noble knocked us out of the play-offs in the
second round last year. Please come and
support the team.
GO EAGLES!!!!
