Last year’s B Squad remembered the defeat at Scarborough and avenged the loss by defeating Scarborough 27-0.  Windham started the victory by winning the opening toss and elected to receive the opening kick.

They quickly demonstrated their powerful running game by having Damien Shepard (AOW) run for a thirty five yard touchdown on the third play of the possession.  Shawn Francoeur added the point after, he would end the day three for four in point after attempts.

Windham’s defense proved stingy and Scarborough was forced to punt.

Windham again took control and Shepard (AOW) recorded another six points by rushing for 53 yards.  Shepard racked up 196 yards on the day and would have had over 250 had a roughing the kicker penalty not been called nullifying a 60 plus punt return and touchdown.

Windham only had two penalties during the game.

Windham’s offense continued to dominate in the first half.  The combination of Christian Coons and Colby Waterhouse set up the third Windham touchdown.  Colby Waterhouse took a handoff from quarterback Calvin Field and scampered for an eighteen yard touchdown.

Windham would finish its scoring with a Christian Coons one yard bull run.

Due to new rules this year, Windham had to modify its plays and player rotation after taking the lead by twenty points.  That meant no outside running plays and some different players subbing in.

Windham’s offense tried to put points on the board in the second half, but to no avail.  Handicapped as they were, the defense still stifled the Scarborough offense.

Late in the third quarter, a Scarborough player went down with a neck injury.  That delayed the game for about thirty minutes.  The player was transported to a local hospital to be examined.  Based on local accounts, he seemed to be in ok shape, but the precautionary steps were taken to ensure his well being.  The game ended as the first half ended, with Windham leading 27-0.

Catch the MS Eagle squad next week in Wells for a 1:00PM game on Saturday.  Things are shaping up for another stellar year for this talented squad.

COMMENTS:

I feel it is great the windham backs are doing so well this year, but it seems that they get alot of credit for the work they do , this would not be possible with out the help of the interior tackles and guards, im not saying what they do is not incredible because it is im just saying people such as Shawn Francoeur, Tyler Pennanen, Jared Libby.. etc. should get more credit and be honered for their work up front. great job so far windham,, keep it up!!

I agree...the interior tackles, guards and center kick ass! Good job, Tyler, Shawn, Jared, Joe, Josh and Jake.

Go Eagles
