This page is dedicated to Windham Youth
Soccer Association from Pre-K to high school.
This site is not meant as a replacement for
WYSA's website. It is meant to compliment it
by providing information and results which
it does not.
We will post information about upcoming
registrations, camps, seasons, games and
report on games, scores and provide pictures
from these events. Everything you would
expect from your local sports page, except
more of it!
WYSA OPENS FALL REC. SEASON
September 8,
2007
 |
It
may have felt like midsummer
outside today with hot
repressive heat that could have
given Windham residents one of
their last chances of the season
to enjoy the many lakes and
beaches in the area.
For hundreds of Windham families
today was the first day of the
Windham Youth Soccer
Association's Fall Recreation
season.

"JUST FOR FUN"
September 4
2007 by Mike Russell
 |
That's the name of this past
weekend's soccer festival in
Cumberland and that's exactly
what happens!
Many teams from all around were
part of this great weekend of
soccer.
The weather was great, the
fields were green and the kids
were having a blast.

RECAPS:
While we would like to mention everyone from
every game that is impossible. Please
remember as you read these that it takes the
hard work of an entire team to get the ball
to the person that ultimately scores the
goals.

Travel Soccer
U9 Boys
Eleven boys
from Windham and Raymond began their travel
soccer careers today against Westbrook's U9
Boys Travel Team.
Windham
peppered the Westbrook goal with 22 shots on
goal while Westbrook's goal keepers came up
big with 16 saves.
Every boy
played hard and contributed to the team's
efforts with a strong defense and a
relentless attack on the Westbrook goal. The
boys have four games in the Cumberland Just
for Fun tournament this coming Saturday.
U13 Girls
Played South
Portland in South Portland. Played to a
scoreless tie after regulation and two five
minute overtimes. The girls won on penalty
kicks.
U13 Boys
Played
Marshwood on Field 2 behind Field Allen
School in Windham. Windham started the
scoring, followed by two goals from
Marshwood. Windham captured the win with two
goals in the second half.
U14 Boys
Played in
Windham and although we don't have the
specifics we can tell you that this team
also won on penalty kicks.
