Remains Unbeaten

On a rainy
homecoming evening the Windham Middle School
football teams played under the lights on the
High School Varsity field and The A Squad was on
a mission to continue their undefeated season.
B GAME
Windham 30
Marshwood 0
The Windham Middle
School "B" team dominated the Marshwood B Team
30-0 on the High School Varsity field in Windham
on Saturday night.
Windham took the
opening drive and marched downfield for the
game's first touchdown on quarterback Calvin
Field's 1 yard run. Windham converted the two
point conversion to make it 8-0.
Marshwood's first
drive resulted in a turnover on downs on the
Windham 26 yard line. Windham's Josiah Purves
then took the handoff, got outside and ripped
off a 74 yard touchdown run only to have it
called back on a holding call. Windham was
unable to convert the first down and had to
punt.
The Eagles Defense
stepped up and recovered a Marshwood fumble on
their opponents 47 yard line. Josiah Purves
quickly turned that into a touchdown run and a
14-0 Windham lead.
Josiah Purves
added another touchdown in the second half and
ended the game with 211 yards and two touchdowns
on the ground. Danny Stewart chipped in with an
18 yard run of his own.
A
GAME
The undefeated
Eagles took the early lead in the second game of
the evening before finally finishing off the
Marshwood team 22-12 to remain unbeaten on the
season.
Windham took an
8-0 lead aided in part by Damien Shephards 45
yard kick return. By halftime Marshwood had
chopped the lead deficit down to 8-6.
Marshwood took the
lead in the 3rd quarter 12-8 and things didnt
look good for the Eagles until retaking the lead
late in the 4th quarter.
Damien Shepherd
had a 52 yard punt return for a touchdown called
back but did score by land, 38 yard touchdown
run and by air, 25 yard touchdown reception.
Christian Coons
rushed 13 times for 62 yards and a touchdown.
Colby Waterhouse had 69 yards on 12 carries
