WINDHAM BOYS AND GIRLS WIN FIRST MEET OF
SEASON
December 8, 2007
The Girls And Boys Varsity Swimming and
Diving Teams for Windham High School began
their season this past Saturday with
victories over Portland. The Girls score
was 98-31 and the boys score was 77-71.
The Girls were led by individual event wins
from Kirstin Russell (200 Freestyle, 500
Freestyle), Chloe Mack (200 IM, 100
Butterfly), Ali Wilkerson (50 Freestyle, 100
Breaststroke), Jaci Lorenzen (100
Freestyle), and Kim Sundquist (100
Backstroke. The WIndham Girls also won two
out of the three relays.
The boys were led by event winners Nathan
Paluso (200 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle), Lance
Webster (200 IM, 100 Butterfly), Jake
Shoberg (400 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke) and
Bryndon Page (100 Breaststroke). The boys
were able to win all 3 relays. The boys
meet was won in the final event as the relay
team of Lance Webster, Jake Shoberg, Ryan
Page, and Nathan Paluso outpaced Portland
for the win.
This is the second season of the rebirth of
the Swimming and Diving Teams. The girls
team has grown from 6 swimmers to 12 and the
boys team has grown from 2 swimmers to 6.
The girls were 1-7 last year and the boys
were 0-8. The teams have 8 more dual meets
prior to the Southwestern Championships and
the State Meet. Jake Shoberg, Nathan Paluso,
and Lance Webster posted times that qualify
them for the State Championships in
February.
Congratulations to the Windham High School
SWIM TEAM for a GREAT first meet of the
season against Portland! Both our girls and
boys teams won the meet. Well done EAGLES!
