WINDHAM 5th GRADE TRAVEL DROPS FIRST GAME OF SEASON

December 8, 2007

The Windham fifth grade boys travel team came up short in their quest for their fifth straight victory with a tough 32-17 loss to Brunswick.

The first half was a low scoring affair with several of the players still recovering from the WYBA recreation games they played less than two hours earlier. The half ended in a 7-7 tie.

Brunswick came to life in the second half, outscoring Windham 25-10 while handing Windham a 32-17 defeat, their first of the season.

Derek Hammond led the way for Windham, scoring nine points.

Coach Peter Snow said "The kids gave a good effort today" and singled out "Sam Coons for his hustle and all around play."
